We spoke to Mikhaelize about crafting music that blends philosophical meditation with ambient soundscapes, creating sonic spaces that awaken rather than sedate and invite listeners into deep inner reflection. They shared how their sound has evolved into a spatial, poetic fusion where even system errors and infinity’s mathematics become inspirations, culminating in the upcoming release Sur ses chemins from the EP Territoires de l’Intuition this September.

How would you describe your music to someone who’s never heard it?

Mikhaelize creates ambient poetry where philosophical meditation meets sonic exploration. Imagine soundscapes that float between consciousness and dream, where each silence breathes as deeply as each note. Drawing from the tradition of Erik Satie’s “Furniture Music” and Brian Eno’s atmospheric concepts, but pushing into territories where music becomes a mirror for inner contemplation. It’s ambient that awakens rather than sedates – sonic landscapes for souls seeking depth beyond surface.

How has your sound evolved since you first started making music?

The journey began with pure ambient experimentation, but evolved into something more alive – a fusion of poetic philosophy and sound architecture. “Sur ses chemins” represents this evolution: from mechanical production to organic flow. The sound has become more spatially aware incorporating principles of emotional voice spatialization where the voice doesn’t just sing but floats three-dimensionally around the listener. Each new piece builds on discoveries about how sound can carry philosophical weight without words.

What’s a bizarre or unexpected inspiration behind one of your songs?

“Sur ses chemins” emerged from a meditation on the mystical mathematics of infinity – the number 8 lying on its side. The track’s structure mirrors an ancient formula: two identical phrases connected by a transformative bridge, like the mathematical symbol itself. But the strangest inspiration? The rhythm came from listening to system errors – the musicality hidden in technical chaos. It’s finding the poetry in malfunction, the beauty in what appears broken.

What’s the most memorable moment of your music career so far?

The first time “Sur ses chemins” was played with full spatial audio in a darkened room – hearing how the emotional spatialization created an actual three-dimensional presence, as if the voice was a living entity moving through space. That moment when technical innovation met artistic vision and created something beyond both. The realization that music could be architecture for consciousness.

Tell us all you can about your latest release and where and when to find it?

*”Sur ses chemins” explores poetic reconciliation through ambient meditation. First single from the upcoming EP “Territoires de l’Intuition” (September 2025). The track dissolves paradoxes through sonic alchemy – where opposing forces find harmony in the musical space between thoughts.
