We speak with Mandy Shadow to dive into the roots of her musical journey, explore the evolution of her sound across genres, and get the inside story on her latest release. Discover what drives her creativity and what fans can expect next in the full interview below.

How would you describe your music to someone who’s never heard it?

Its a blend of indie, alternative rock, sometimes ballads, I just tell people I’m eclectic because I even have a smooth jazz song. I write about love, telling a true story, they are all experiences about people I meet.

How has your sound evolved since you first started making music?

It started when I was 13 years old and I was learning the guitar and listening to artists like Bob Dylan and other folk music. When I was 15 I started busking at the London Eye and wrote my first song One Wish about the loss of my grandfather and played the harmonica as-well. When I was in high school, Avril Lavigne came out with her cool style of songs and that inspired me to continue. The last few singles have been smooth jazz and a country vibe with the help of my producer Uri Avi. I am still exploring new sounds for a next release, which I am still in progress of composing right now but I know it will be a completely different genre which I haven’t done. I believe all my songs have different elements of different genres.

What’s a bizarre or unexpected inspiration behind one of your songs?

I guess all my songs are about a love experience and have been composed at a moment where rejection and heart break plays a big part. I have not written anything new in around 2 years, because I am happy, and that is the bizarre thing for me, not being able to compose when I am happy.

What’s the most memorable moment of your music career so far?

This year i took part in Teguise Music Showcase which is a huge festival in Lanzarote that only allow original artists to perform and I finally showcased the best of me to new listeners and I hope that my songs continue to reach more.

Tell us all you can about your latest release and where and when to find it?

The last single came out in 2023 called Butterflies and You can listen to my whole discography on Spotify or YouTube.
