The ambitious trilogy started by Giack Bazz back in 2018, is coming to its end with a bang that goes directly through our skull: “Bedtime Stories for Computers” is the third and final chapter preceding down on us. Due November 15th, the LP spans tracks that could appeal to fans of heavy indie music on one end and electronic-glitch core or contemporary classical on the other. Bright Eyes, Jack White, Djo, Phoebe Bridgers and The Smile fans will also like what they find in this record.
This is not just an album, but these are the end results of a musical journey that started from translating computer music in to rock band setting; and let it be orchestrated. The idea in and of itself is enough to lend way for an album that’s as experimental as it is diverse. Giack Bazz creates an intricate and mesmerising embroidery of sound with everything from heavy indie rock riffs to electronic beats through classical arrangements.
Right from the start, Giack Bazz succeeded in driving forward the boundaries of music. He wrote his first song in 2008 which was the time when he started out. Taking us to 2015, his bandmates pushed him to release debut solo LP “Childhood Dream“: a seriously candid offering that doubled up as therapy – swooping in where childhood traumas had encroached. That album met with approval across the board and, assisted in its birth as a rock opera, thanks to the support of the Arts Council.
In 2018 Giack released “Giack Bazz Is Not Famous”, a collection that was an argument about the idea of fame totally as a social status. A more full-band approach but with a lighter yet somehow angsty indie-rock vibe, these tracks were recorded at an isolated studio where it was just Giack and the engineer. The success of the album prompted Giack to relocate to London where he developed his sound further.
Giack’s discography is as diverse as it is impressive. In 2019, he released “Haikufy,” an album inspired by Japanese poetry. Despite its 30 tracks, the album clocked in at under 20 minutes and quickly gained over 100,000 streams in its first week. This avant-garde project earned an 8/10 rating from Decade and secured spots on several renowned Asian streaming playlists. “Haikufy” was a pivotal moment in Giack’s career, leading to an opening slot for The Messthetics at the Locomotiv Club.
In 2023, Giack released “Just a Little Bit More Famous,” a spiritual sequel to his sophomore album. Written during the lockdown and kept in “release limbo” for two years, this album received critical acclaim in Europe, Japan, and South America. It also provided Giack with opportunities to open for Chris Morrissey and perform at the London HMV on Record Store Day, where he sold out 200 CD copies in just two weeks.
The sound adventure in “Bedtime Stories for Computers” is guaranteed to be unlike anything. The album is versatile and has a diverse range of musical styles. Giack Bazz’s album is a must-have for any music lover who enjoys heavy indie, electronic, or contemporary classical styles.
To celebrate the album’s launch, Giack Bazz and his band will perform at the Sherrif Centre in West Hampstead on November 16th. This live performance is going to be a spectacle, with Giack’s dynamic stage presence and the band’s tight musicianship bringing the album to life. In addition to the live show, a short film and a behind-the-scenes documentary have been announced to support the release, providing fans with an in-depth look at the making of the album.
“Bedtime Stories for Computers” is not an ordinary album, it also demonstrates Giack Bazz’s creativity and dedication to his career. With its genre-defying sound and innovative concept, this album is set to be a standout release in 2024. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to Giack’s music, “Bedtime Stories for Computers” is an album you won’t want to miss. So mark your calendars for November 15th, and get ready to embark on a musical journey like no other.
