Vices is the latest single from Bryan Dubay, and the opening single of the EP with the same name. This Buffalo, NY based singer songwriter has been working on his compositions since the age of 14 and is known for his rich and ethereal sound which encompasses various shades of indie rock. Vices was written deep in the pandemic. Inspired by the people trying to find love amidst the lockdown, Dubay imagined what it would be like if everyone broke from the loneliness and resorted to drowning their sadness in self-destructive means.

The song is characterized by Dubay’s signature ethereal sound. It’s melancholy tinged by a twangy and sweet jangle. Listening to his vocals and how everything blends seamlessly feels like listening to a Radiohead track with a hint of citrusy sweetness. The bright guitars cut through the otherwise gloomy soundscape. In a world full of lonely people trying to resist the urge to break the rules and risk their safety, some are left with nothing but their indulgences. This bittersweet feeling is felt all over the song–a wonderful contrast that leaves us wanting more.

Vices is out now on all streaming platforms, and if you’d like to hear more about the world that’s established in this single then we invite you to check out the rest of the EP. Bryan Dubay has poured his heart and soul into this masterpiece, and this is only the first chapter.
