It’s Doctor aren’t here to save the world, and thank god for that. The London and Brighton alternative rock trio is back with a new single, “Rash Vest“, and it’s a gloriously weird, guitar-driven blast of energy. Following up their fifth album Darkness In Me, this track proves the band hasn’t lost their offbeat sense of humour or their knack for a killer hook. They’ve been grinding away for over a decade, and it shows in the tight, punchy delivery.

The band is made up of Welsh singer-songwriter and bassist Doctor G, guitarist Doctor P, and drummer Doctor M. That’s a lot of doctors in one room, but there’s no medical advice here—just pure, unadulterated noise. They’ve spent years making a sound that draws heavy comparisons to Weezer, Pixies, and Talking Heads. You can hear those influences bleeding through the speaker: the quirky, angular guitar riffs, the driving rhythm section, and the darker lyrical themes hidden under a playful, almost goofy exterior. It’s melodic indie rock with a serious bite.

So what is “Rash Vest” actually about? It’s not a deep political statement or a brooding ballad. It’s based on the unlikely true story of a lost rash vest and the absolutely brutal sunburn that followed. It’s a typically unconventional subject for a band whose songwriting finds inspiration in everything from love and loss to life’s more absurd moments. The track is fun, fast-paced, and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to bounce around a sweaty basement venue with your mates.

They recorded the track at Berry Sound Studios in Walthamstow, with Sean Berry producing. Natalie Bibby handled the mixing and mastering, continuing their long-running creative partnership. The result is a crisp, clean sound that still feels raw and live. The guitars crunch, the basslines hold everything down, and the drums keep the whole thing from flying off the rails.

They’re already working on new material and aiming to build their profile throughout 2027. So, if you want rock music that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still hits hard, check out It’s Doctor and their latest track, “Rash Vest“. It’s loud, it’s fun, and it’s exactly what you need.
