Manufracture Music doesn’t make music for the faint of heart. The Vienna-based project of producer and sound designer Valerian Steel is back with “System Apathy“, a dark, hardware-driven industrial/EBM single that feels like a machine coming to life just to watch the world burn. This isn’t a song. It’s a transmission from a broken future. And it hits like a lead pipe to the skull.

Steel built this thing from the ground up using analogue synths, drum machines, and hands-on sequencing. He calls it Analog Core Industrial – A.C.I. for short. The physical behaviour of the machines, their limitations, voltage, texture, and resistance, all become part of the composition. That’s not a gimmick. That’s the whole point. The music is cold, mechanical, and deeply human all at once. Distorted electronic pulses grind against mechanical rhythms. The atmosphere is bleak and cinematic. You can almost see the ruined cities and fractured data streams. The central image is a machine that keeps running while everything around it collapses. That’s the mood. That’s the mission.

The lyrics move between technological collapse and human indifference. Blood, metal, poisoned skies, failing circuits, broken routines. The song’s hook includes a haunting phrase about the agony of bleeding machines and a melody in shadow decay. It’s not pretty. It’s not supposed to be. This is a society that’s become unable or unwilling to respond to its own decay. And Steel captures that feeling with brutal precision.

Here’s where it gets really interesting: the music is built from analogue hardware, but the accompanying video is created with AI-based visual tools. That contradiction is intentional. Steel is using the tension itself as material. Human intention, physical machines, and generative systems all collide inside the same dystopian universe. It’s a provocation about authenticity, authorship, and the blurred line between human-made and machine-made culture. The video’s visual language is deliberately artificial: ruined industrial landscapes, machine-human imagery, surveillance-like graphics, and dystopian fragments. It feels simultaneously documentary and synthetic. That’s the point.

“System Apathy” is a hardware-built industrial transmission about technological collapse, social apathy, and the fading line between human intention and machine-generated culture. If you like your electronic music cold, heavy, and built by hand, this one’s for you. Manufracture Music isn’t asking you to dance. It’s asking you to wake up and smell the decay.
