Dexter Flew is back in June 2026, and they didn’t come to polish anybody’s crown. They came to kick it into the gutter and watch it roll. The new single Crowned — ripped straight from their album WHO, WHERE, WHY? — is aimed right at the people in suits who think they’re gods.

So what’s this track really about? The attitude is loud and clear. Dexter Flew is asking the big, ugly questions that nobody at a press conference wants to hear: Who’s really in charge? Who’s telling the truth? And why do some politicians suddenly start acting like they’ve been cast as the lead in The Messiah Returns Part II? Yeah. You’ve seen those guys. Sweating through their tailored suits on live TV, pretending they’ve got all the answers while the world burns.

This is basically a pub debate set to jangling guitars. It’s a protest anthem that doesn’t wave a flag—it just points a finger and laughs. Dexter Flew stomps through the madness of conflicts, pandemics, and the resulting crisis like a drunk uncle who’s actually right for once. Was COVID a sham? Why is the chaos escalating? How does it de-escalate? Do leaders do their best, or are they just auditioning for sainthood on live television? The band doesn’t claim to have the answers. But they’ve definitely brought the soundtrack to the argument.

And what a soundtrack. Think Dylan glaring over his sunglasses while Neil Young rewires the national grid. That’s the energy here. Jangle, crunch, wit, and enough attitude to make a minister check their dry cleaning bill.

The album WHO, WHERE, WHY? is packed with big hooks, bigger questions, and the occasional existential wobble. But Crowned is the centrepiece. The one where Dexter Flew peers into the void—and the void blinks first.
