Man, some bands just get it. The Buddyrevelles? These Chicago lifers have been grinding since 1998, and they’ve still got that fire in their guts. The proof? Their new single “Make the Dings Louder” —dropped May 22, 2026—and let me tell you, this thing stomps.
Just strong, punch-you-in-the-chest guitars, a bass that rumbles like a pissed-off thundercloud, and drums that snap like a whip. This is a band that knows exactly what they’re doing. We’re talking about the same crew that gave us September, November back in ’98 on Motorcoat Records, then American Matador in 2000, and the underrated gem Don’t Quit in 2007 on Solitaire Records. That history shows. They’ve got chops for days.
After that powerhouse opening, the vocals step in with some clever vocal interplay. It’s not just one dude singing over a wall of noise. Nah. The voices tangle, duck, and weave around each other like a couple of old friends arguing at a bar. And the hooks? Hooks for days, my friend. Layered vocal melodies stack on top of each other, and you can tell there’s real meaning buried in there—even if you’re just vibing to the noise.
Just when you think you’ve got the song figured out, a trumpet slides in during the finale. Well-placed work, and damn right. That horn cuts through the fuzz and gives the whole thing this triumphant, almost cinematic ending. You’ll be on the edge of your seat, and yeah—it’ll linger long after the needle drops.
This is the second single off their upcoming EP The Conviction, which lands June 2026. That EP finishes their Trilogy of the EPs—a three-year journey that started with The Consolation in 2024 (nasty little abacus-themed record about time wearing you down) and The Concession in 2025 (pear vibes, hope, renewal). Now The Conviction is here to close the deal. And if “Make the Dings Louder” is any sign? We’re in for a ripper.
Turn it up. Make the dings louder. Seriously.
