You think teen pop punk is just bubblegum fluff? LED just proved you dead wrong.
This Angeleno trio—Edie Yvonne on vocals and bass, Layne Olivia on vocals and guitar, and Lockett Pentz thrashing the drums—got together on their spring break to write “Your Perfect.” Spring break! Most kids are at the beach. These three were in a room, bleeding out the messiest, realest feelings about high school drama and unrequited crushes.
And holy smokes, does it hit.
“Your Perfect” is a bittersweet tune about that ugly truth we all know: feeling like you’re never enough. That pressure to live up to someone else’s ideal? Yeah, they nail it. Edie and Layne shared stories—the sting of wanting someone who doesn’t want you back, the drama that makes teenage years a battlefield. Love didn’t go as planned. But LED found their voice anyway.
Here’s the magic: Edie and Layne have totally different styles and sounds. But when they come together to write and harmonize, it’s like a third voice appears out of thin air. That’s chemistry you can’t fake. And Lockett? They call him a musical savant. No argument here. The drums lock in like a cage closing shut—tight, relentless, punk as hell. Put the three together and it’s straight-up magic.
These kids have already played Hotel Cafe, the Mint, the Whisky, Licorice Pizza, and even opened for Diplo at Aviator Nation Dreamland. That’s a résumé that older bands would kill for. Now they’re dropping “Your Perfect” off their forthcoming debut EP, and they want your help to break through the noise.
So here’s my help: CRANK THIS SONG.
Watch Edie thump that bass, Layne rip the guitar, and Lockett beat those drums like they owe him money. This is real. This is honest. This is pop punk with a scar. “Your Perfect” isn’t about being perfect. It’s about surviving the crush that crushed you. And that’s way more rock ‘n’ roll.
