Look, I’m gonna level with you right out the gate. “Comorbidites” (yeah, that’s the medical term for having multiple conditions screwing you up at once—clever folks, ain’t they?) is NOT a feel-good record. And thank God for that.

Sentinel Events—the Orlando alt-rock crew led by the painfully honest Garrett Janks—just dropped their third collaborative concept album, and this thing HITS. We’re talking heavy, brooding distortion that crawls under your skin. Angst-laden vocals that don’t only sing the pain—they bleed it. This is satirical, emotionally naked, and unapologetically raw.

Garrett Janks handles vocals, guitar, lead songwriting, lyrics, production, and the overall concepts. The man’s carrying weight like a pack mule on a bad day. Zac Raya‘s the glue—recording engineer, mixing, mastering, piano, synth, bass, vocal harmonies, guitar, AND production. Plus he threw down songwriting and lyrical contributions on “Bad Radiation.” Doug Charles holds down the drum stool and percussion across the album, also pitching in on writing and production for that same track. John Paul Foronda brings piano, synth, and production to “Comorbidities, The Game!” plus more songwriting help on “Bad Radiation.”

And the guests? Stacked.

Dinosaur Juice” (feat. Morrison) – This one already made waves, and for damn good reason. Morrison (Dylan Rose) steps up on accompanied lead vocals, guitar, and bass. The track opens with this heavy, brooding distorted guitar that screams dread—like walking out of a doctor’s office with news you didn’t want. The vocals are volatile, swinging between resignation, ridicule, and resolve. And here’s the beautiful part: it ends on a bright, upbeat tone. A full arc. Morrison absolutely nails it.

Bad Radiation” (feat. Conflicting Motive + Foxes & Poems) – A special featured collaborative single for the album launch. Foxes & Poems (April Duncan) performs an original poem called “End of Armistice” plus voice acting. Conflicting Motive is in the mix too. This one’s got layers upon layers.

Garden of the Gods” (feat. Elay VanBoer) – Elay takes accompanied lead vocals here. Short track at 2:16, but sometimes you don’t need six minutes to leave a mark.

Florence Nightingale” (feat. Louvenia) – Louvenia (Aly Hubbell) brings guest vocals and voice acting. Keith Hetrick does voice acting too. Blaine Goodwin contributed a field recording. This one’s atmospheric in a way that’ll put you right in the room.

Sadie Hawkins” (feat. Margo Maybach) – Margo doesn’t mess around: guest vocals, guitar, bass, voice acting, AND songwriting contributions. Brian Kizer adds lead guitar. This track has teeth.

Cold Planet – Voidscan Remix” – Voidscan (Brooks Davis) takes the wheel on this electronic remix. Different flavour, still hits.

White Coat Syndrome” (feat. Hesitant Waitress) – Closing things out, Hesitant Waitress delivers guest vocals, piano, and lyrical contributions. Perfect closer for an album about pain and the systems that manage (or fail) it.

This album expands on Sentinel Events’ uncategorized art-rock sound and confessional lyricism that started with Poor Historian and Trendelenburg Dreams. The construction was wild—some collaborators met in person for the first time at a live studio session, others worked entirely remote, file-sharing their parts. And you know what? You can’t hear the seams. It flows.

Garrett drew from painful lived experiences—hospitalization, fighting to stay alive. And that honesty? It’s the whole damn point. This is for anyone who’s had it rough. Anyone who’s surrendered to a medical system just to survive. Anyone who’s been diagnosed, treated, and left holding the wreckage.

Comorbidites” is a satirical middle finger wrapped in emotional devastation, and it’s the best thing Sentinel Events has done yet.
