Omnesia, the Oakland-based duo of androgynous vocal powerhouse Medella Kingston and eclectic guitarist/producer known as M2, just dropped “Days and Nights,” a tidal wave of future-vintage rock. This feels like it was recorded in a fever dream of nostalgia and musical passion. The song’s soul is born from a universal feeling: the loneliness when a loved one is away, with the electric, anticipatory joy of their return.
The core of Omnesia is Kingston and M2, the mastermind writers and producers behind this 17-track behemoth of an album they’re building. But for “Days and Nights,” they called in the cavalry. They managed to snag Eric Slick, the god-tier drummer known for his time with prog legend Adrian Belew and the weirdo-rock kings Ween. The man heard a demo and FLEW IN to lay down the tracks. That alone tells you the calibre of magic we’re dealing with. And the drum sound? Forget digital perfection. They tracked the skins in a massive Oakland warehouse with brick walls, capturing that live, breathing, only-fired-clay-can-create thunder. It’s a sound that punches you in the chest and feels real.
Then you have Stephen Goodwin on bass, a Bay Area hitman who’s played with everyone from Testament to Tower of Power. He “nailed the unusual bass line,” and you can damn well hear it—it’s a melodic, prowling entity that locks in with Slick’s drums tighter than leather pants. Add keys and strings from producer Tal Ariel, and you’ve got a symphony of chaos and order crashing together.
“Days and Nights” is the first single from their upcoming 17-track/17-video album “Omnesia – Future Vintage,” due in February 2026. It drops November 14th, 2025, and it’s a statement of intent from Omnesia. Get ready.
