✨✨✨ One More Weekend create music driven by feeling rather than genre, drawing inspiration from everything from advertising to annoying voices. Their latest single, “Aunty Meredith,” captures the highs and hazy aftermath of a festival adventure and is out now on their website along with a wild music video. Read more about it below! ✨✨✨
How would you describe your music to someone who’s never heard it?
I would say you’ll have to take a chance and listen. We aren’t genre specific, why cage yourself like that playing a similar sound with similar tones and styles. We write for the feeling not for the genre.
How has your sound evolved since you first started making music?
Extensively, from the small things like the equipment changes, all the way to how we make it interesting for ourselves. We’re all about music that makes us feel now.
What’s a bizarre or unexpected inspiration behind one of your songs?
Got a few odd ones, one about the advertising industry (Listen) another about “pushing the boundaries of your mind” (Raindrops) got one that I wrote based on how irritating someone’s voice was (Faceless Names)
What’s the most memorable moment of your music career so far?
Was head banging on stage at a rural gig and smacked my forehead so hard on the mic that it bled for the rest of the set, that was pretty memorable. If you’re referring achievement wise though it’s gotta be our latest release Aunty Meredith, I’m just beyond stoked with how this banger turned out.
Tell us all you can about your latest release and where and when to find it?
Aunty Meredith is our latest single. It’s about a little adventure I had at a music festival. It’s a story about how pushing hard through the party might result with some “interesting” self reflection after the party, when the comedown is still feeling a little like someone else is there with you. You can listen to it right now via our website at https://www.onemoreweekend.com It will be available on all of the streaming services that screw us over soon but until then we’ve got an absolutely mental music video out with it which highlights all the above, you can check that out HERE!
