If you’re looking for a band that knows how to rock out and jam, then Blue Banshees is the one for you. Their newest single, “Pressure3”, is a testament to how this up-and-coming band definitely deserves a place in the limelight, and it’s unbelievable how they’ve managed to create and cement their distinct sound with only three members, describing their genre as “garage rock with a post punk edge.” And if that is enough to intrigue you, then buckle up, because this newest release of theirs is going to take it to a whole new level.
At its core, “Pressure3” is a song about the expectations of others and how love isn’t a constant need. This hits home right from the beginning with the lyrics: “I never met a man who died from an overdose of love.” It may be short and straight-to-the-point, but it really gets you thinking; love isn’t the end-all, be-all of life.
Mark Perrelli, the band’s lyric writer, drummer, and master of synth lays the groundwork with his beats, with their guitarist, Richard Anctil, following up with almost Western-sounding riffs that are simply a treat to listen to. But it all comes together with bassist and vocalist Papa Scorpio’s powerful voice, unifying all the track’s elements and elevating the song into an absolute headbanger. The track feels exactly like those garage parties with a live rock band playing, but Blue Banshees takes it even further with their boundless creativity.
If you like songs with lyrics that go hard and instrumentals that go even harder, then why not blast “Pressure3” on the speakers at your next party? It’s out on streaming platforms now.
