Leicester’s most rebellious noise-makers, 9 o’clock Nasty, are storming back onto the scene, and their new single “Love In The Circle” is a dirty, addictive rush that’ll hit your rock ‘n’ roll soul like a train. It’s a blistering take on modern life, all wrapped up in this slithering, sexy groove.
The world’s closing in, love’s getting trampled in the rush – that’s the bleak landscape “Love In The Circle” paints. But 9 o’clock Nasty ain’t here for despair. They’re asking the crucial question: how the hell do you find genuine connection, how do you keep that righteous horniness alive, in the middle of the modern circus? Late-night limo rides that go nowhere, painfully awkward dinner parties, and those mind-numbing arguments about what “productivity” even means anymore. They even throw down a real-life grenade – the story of the lustful boyfriend thinking sharing hardcore porn is his ticket to an orgy. Oof. Brutal. Relatable. Classic Nasty territory.
Ted Pepper‘s bass is like this living, breathing monster that somehow manages to be both threatening and seductive at the same time. Then you’ve got Pete Brock ripping through with his guitar, cutting through all that darkness. Or maybe he’ll throw in some dirty, distorted slide work that fits perfectly with his vocals. One moment he’s growling from somewhere deep, the next he’s sneering with this knowing sarcasm as he tears through lyrics about “Infatuation. Desire. Poor judgment.” And keeping this beautiful mess from falling apart is Sydd Spudd behind the kit, pounding out rhythms that are tight but still feel primitive, like the heartbeat of this whole sleaze-rock beast.
“Love In The Circle” is a song about fighting to stay human, stay hungry, and keep your head straight in a world that seems hell-bent on beating those feelings out of you. From July 19th, hit the streaming platforms, blast it on YouTube (the video drops the same day – get a sneak peek if you dare), and let 9 o’clock Nasty remind you what vital, pissed-off, intelligent rock music sounds like.
